John O’Groats to Lands End - Charlie Chandler Run

Saturday 25th October 2025

Let us introduce you to Charlie Chandler, a young gentleman who is an inspiration to all. Charlie became involved with the foundation in 2019 when, through a friend, he was invited on one of our Ben Nevis trips, climbing the highest mountain in the UK to raise funds for us.

Back Story

Since 2019, he has continued to test his resolve, and every year has increased the challenges he takes on. He has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and completed the National Three Peaks Challenge ten times — the majority as a team leader, guiding groups around the mountains in a responsible manner.

For the last three years, he has completed the Goggins Challenge, which involves running four miles every four hours for 48 hours. Then, in 2025, he completed both a 100-mile run and a 200-kilometre run — both extreme feats of endurance that left us mesmerised.

But that’s not enough for Charlie. His lifelong dream has been to run from John O’Groats to Land’s End — the length of the UK — covering around 850 miles. He will take on this incredible challenge starting on 9th May 2026 and will be raising funds for both the Amelia-Mae Foundation and his local boxing gym, Leigh Park, who have been instrumental in getting Charlie to this point.

We would be hugely grateful for any support you can provide.

Comment from Andy Bowie (Deputy Chair of Trustees)

We at the foundation cannot thank Charlie enough for everything he does for the foundation.

Every year the challenges he takes on become harder and harder and this is one challenge that will take everything he has got!

I am so proud to be alongside Charlie for this challenge leading his support team and cannot wait to celebrate such an achievement with him at Lands End on the 24th May next year.
